Cancer And Its Treatment
Cancer is derived from the Latin word ' carcinoma' which means crab. It is the most fearful disease and refers to all malignant tumors caused by abnormal body cell growth or a group of cells. Today it is the world's second-biggest killer, next only heartaches. More than 200 diseases are covered by therm. Most cancers occur in the 50-60 age group today. The incidence of the disease is not affected by sex. But it affects the growth site. Cancer usually occurs in men's intestines, prostate, and lungs. Cancer mostly occurs in breast tissue, uterus, gallbladder and thyroid in women. Symptoms of cancer Cancer symptoms depend on where the growth takes place. The American Cancer Society has generally prescribed seven signs or danger signals that can indicate cancer. These are: 1. A pain that does not heal 2. Change the bowel or bladder habits 3. Unusual bleeding or discharge 4.Thickening or lump in the breast or elsewhere 5. Indigestion or difficulty swallowing 6. Evident change in the wart or mole 7. And persistent cough or heat. Other symptoms may include unexplained weight loss, especially in older people, skin color changes and changes in menstrual periods, in particular bleeding between periods. Causes of cancer The main cause of cancer is unknown. However, the risk of the disease is increased by certain cancer-causing substances, known as carcinogens. Everyone is responsible for approximately 80 per cent of cancers. In India, 40% of male cancers are associated with tobacco, a famous cause of cancer. Tongue, lips, mouth, throat, and cancer are associated with the composition of the pan, betelnut, tobacco and slaked lime. Tobacco and bidi are connected to lung and throat cancers, and bukka puffing is also linked. Heavy metal alcoholic beverage consumption may cause cancers of the esophagus, stomach, and liver. Exposure to industrial pollutants such as asbestos, nickel, tar, soot and high doses of X - rays at work can lead to skin and lung cancer and leukemia. Viral infections, trauma, hormone imbalance, and malnutrition are other factors that contribute to cancer. Treatment of cancer In addition to the total elimination of all environmental sources of carcinogen, such as smoking and carcinogenic chemicals in the air, water, and food, the effective treatment of cancer consists of a complete change in diet. There has recently been an increase in popular interest in the concept that diet is not just a minor factor in the development and prevention of cancer, but a major factor. The disease can be prevented and even treated through dietary programs including "natural food" and the use of megavitamin supplements. The patient should first cleanse the system by thoroughly relieving constipation and activating all the removal organs-skin, lungs, liver, kidneys and bowels. To clean the colon, enemas should be used. The patient should only take juicy fruits such as oranges, grapes, lemons, apples, peaches, pears, pineapples and tomatoes for the first four or five days. Vegetable juices, especially carrot juice, are also useful. The patient should be given a nutritious alkaline diet after a few days of an exclusive fruit diet. It should consist of 100% natural foods, focusing on raw fruits and vegetables, cabbage, onion, garlic, cucumber, asparagus, beets and tomatoes. A minimum requirement for high-quality protein can be added to the diet, mainly from vegetable sources such as almonds, millet, sesame seeds, germinated seeds, and grains. In the treatment of leukaemia, Dr. Ann Wigmore of Boston, USA, the well-known naturopath and a pioneer in the field of living food nutrition, has rested the effect of a fresh wheatgrass drink. She claimed by this method that she had cured several cases of this disease. Dr. Wigmore points out that it can repair itself by providing the body with live minerals, vitamins, trace elements and chlorophyll via wheatgrass juice. For the treatment of cancer, Johanna Brandt, the author of the book' the grape cure,' advocated an exclusive grape diet. In 1925, she discovered this mode of cure while experimenting with cancer in her nine-year battle with fasting and dieting alternately. She claimed that this mode of treatment had cured herself. She recommends a two-three-day fast to prepare the diet change system. The patient should have a grape meal every two hours from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. after the short fast. In chronic cases of long standing, this should be followed for a week or two, even a month or two. The patient should start the grape cure with a small quantity of 30, 60, 90 grams per meal, increasing it gradually to double the amount. Approximately 250 grams can be taken safely at a meal over time. Recent research has shown that certain vitamins can be successfully used in cancer control and can increase the life expectancy of some patients with terminal cancer. Vitamin C can be an effective prophylactic agent against cancer, according to recent Swedish studies. Vitamin A has an inhibitory effect on carcinogens in several studies. It is one of the most important helps to combat and prevent cancer in the body's defense system. A vitamin A precursor can actually inhibit skin cancer by helping the body thwart the process called oxidation that causes cancer. The 20 year old, ongoing Japanese study found that those who ate green and yellow vegetables daily have a decreased risk of developing lung, stomach, and other cancers. Recent studies from all across the world suggest that liberal use of green or yellow vegetable and fruit can prevent cancer.
